HT THINK LIKE A COMPUTER SCIEN PDF
By:Jeffrey Elkner,Allen B. Downey,Chris Meyers
Published on 2016-10-04 by Samurai Media Limited

The goal of this book is to teach you to think like a computer scientist. This way of thinking combines some of the best features of mathematics, engineering, and natural science. Like mathematicians, computer scientists use formal languages to denote ideas (specifically computations). Like engineers, they design things, assembling components into systems and evaluating tradeoffs among alternatives. Like scientists, they observe the behavior of complex systems, form hypotheses, and test predictions. The single most important skill for a computer scientist is problem solving. Problem solving means the ability to formulate problems, think creatively about solutions, and express a solution clearly and accurately. As it turns out, the process of learning to program is an excellent opportunity to practice problem-solving skills. That's why this chapter is called, The way of the program. On one level, you will be learning to program, a useful skill by itself. On another level, you will use programming as a means to an end. As we go along, that end will become clearer.

The Future of Money PDF
By:Bernard A. Lietaer
Published on 2013-02-01 by Random House Business Books

THE GLOBAL MONEY SYSTEM NO LONGER WORKS IN OUR BEST INTERESTS; WE NEED A SERIOUS OVERHAUL OF MONEY - AND OF OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS IT. Based on the four mega-trends of monetary instability, global greying (an ageing global population), the information revolution, and climate change, Bernard Lietaer looks at different scenarios of what the world might be like in 2020. The Corporate Millennium: governments are disbanded, central banks become irrelevant and the world is run with Big Brother control by huge companies with their own currencies. CARING COMMUNITIES: after a monetary crash, people retreat into small, self-sustaining communities, like tribes. HELL ON EARTH: in which the breakdown of life as we know it is followed by a highly individualistic free-for-all, resulting in an ever more obscene gulf between rich and poor. SUSTAINABLE ABUNDANCE: envisages a world where we take better care of the environment, re-engage the poor and the unemployed in mainstream society and give back time and fulfilment to the over-worked, while providing the elderly with a high level of personal care. A society of sustainable abundance is achievable - but only if we are willing to re-think our money system and use money innovations that have already proven effective somewhere in the world today.

The Dollar Meltdown PDF
By:Charles Goyette
Published on 2009-10-29 by Penguin

|America's debt is a powder keg about to blow, and the fuse was lit by the rush of bailouts and stimulus spending.| Is your money inflation-proof? It had better be. On the heels of the most recent economic crisis, America is headed toward another: high inflation and dollar devaluation. Charles Goyette reveals the governmental errors that led to the current economic crisis and the bumpy road ahead. The signs are clear: Federal debt is compounding while growth has stalled, and America's foreign creditors are questioning the dollar's reserve currency status. Meanwhile, the |hidden| federal debt, much larger than the official debt, makes things even worse. So what can you do to safeguard your assets when the dollar heads south? This book is the essential guide for protecting yourself--and even profiting--in this time of financial turbulence. In clear detail, Goyette explains the alternative investments--from gold and silver to oil and agriculture-- that will remain strong in the face of mounting inflation. The Dollar Meltdown gives you the tools to maintain the value of your savings and captilize on the coming opportunities. Don't get left holding the bag after decades of government irresponsibility. The Dollar Meltdown shows you how to take the safety of your finances into your own hands.

Reputation Economics PDF
By:Joshua Klein
Published on 2013-11-05 by St. Martin's Press

As the internet has increasingly become more social, the value of individual reputations has risen, and a new currency based on reputation has been created. This means that not only are companies tracking what an individual is tweeting and what sites they spend the most time on, but they're using this knowledge to predict the consumer's future behavior. And a world in which Target knows that a woman is pregnant before she does, or where a person gets a job (or loses one) based on his high school hijinx is a scary one indeed. Joshua Klein's Reputation Economics asks these crucial questions: But what if there were a way to harness the power of these new technologies to empower the individual and entrepreneur? What if it turned out that David was actually better suited to navigate this new realm of reputation than Goliath? And what if he ushered in a new age of business in which reputation, rather than money, was the strongest currency of all? This is all currently happening online already. Welcome to the age of Reputation Economics: -Where Avis is currently discounting car rentals based on Twitter followers -Where Carnival Cruise Lines are offering free upgrades based on a Klout score -Where Amazon and Microsoft are a short way away from dynamically pricing their goods based on a consumer's reach and reputation online -Where Klout scores are being used to vet job applications The value of individual reputation is already radically changing the way business is done.

Has the Crypto-Currency Reached its Peak as Bitcoin Blasts Through $15000 Barrier with Dramatic Rise Bitcoin is Making Headlines Bitcoin is changing financing in the same way that the internet changed publishing! What does the media say about Bitcoin? com - 7th Dec 2017: Bitcoin Blasts Through $15,000 Barrier Despite Bubble Warnings Business Insider US - Bitcoin heading for $10,000 as crypto market cracks $300 billion USA Today- Nov 18th 2013 : “Lawmakers are grappling with how and whether to regulate the virtual currency” Forbes- Nov 19th 2013 : “If you want to join the … party, be my guest. The value of a Bitcoin in dollar terms has tripled in the past month as the price has gone parabolic. Who’s to say it can’t triple again in the next month?” For those of you who keep track of the value of Bitcoin, you no doubt see all the fluctuations that are connected to this digital currency. Some people wonder if this means that there is a threat to the entire crypto-currency platform or not? In the recent past the popularity of Bitcoin has gained new attention. The number of online and offline retailers accepting Bitcoin has grown substantially. One huge attraction of Bitcoin is that it has very low transactions fees associated with it. This is because no bank or government has control over this digital currency. Because Bitcoin is basically a code, could a group of users get together and try to gain control? This is thought to be highly unlikely due to the verification process of each transaction. As the history of Bitcoin only dates back to 2009 it is still very early in the evolution of this currency. It is difficult to predict the future and what will happen. As Bitcoin stands today it has no country boundaries and this is one aspect that people love. All transactions are done via keys with no names or identities attached to them. Investors are becoming passionate about Bitcoin due to the lack of government involvement. They love that the banks can't dictate the value of this currency or assign transaction or exchange fees to it. For a monopolizing threat to be real to Bitcoin, it would need to involve massive amounts of computer power and technology. If any one person or group would be willing to go this far, only time will tell. If you are considering entering the Bitcoin bubble, most experts suggest the ‘now rather than later’ approach. Any type of digital currency or stock market trading can be volatile. You just need to be aware of the risks and you must be willing to accept them. Feeling Confused? Not to worry you are not alone. One of the biggest issues with any digital currency is not knowing how to get started. Some of the most common questions asked about Bitcoin include: What is cryptocurrency? What is Blockchain Technology? What is Bitcoin and how does it works ? What are the other popular digital currencies? What are the coins market caps? How can you start your own cryptocurrency exchanges? Where can you make cryptocurrency exchanges? How do I buy and trade Bitcoins and the best places to do so? How do I prevent theft from my Bitcoin wallet? How do I store Bitcoins the easy way? Bitcoin Investment KnowHow Made Easy will help you understand the latest status of working with this popular currency

Our Money is Broken We live in an unsustainable economic and political environment. Money and power are concentrating from the many to the few. We are losing our Constitutional freedoms at a horrifying rate. The root cause of many of the problems in our civilization is that our money itself is broken. Our money and banking systems were invented centuries ago by elites who wanted to enrich themselves and consolidate their power. The systems they invented still do that today. Because most of us do not understand economics, we don't even know we're being ripped off. But the basics of economics are straightforward. Anyone can grasp them, as this easy-to-read book proves. The New Big Bang In 2009, a new technology was quietly released that is as pivotal as the invention of the Internet itself. This technology is the blockchain. Even today, few people have heard of the blockchain. But it will change the lives of virtually everyone on this planet. The first implementation of the blockchain was Bitcoin, a form of digital cash. But the blockchain is much more than Bitcoin and its spinoffs. The blockchain has the power to enable you and I to build grassroots economies that are fairer and more humane. The new forms of currency and the new economies that we invent can help us protect our Constitutional freedoms, provide real paths out of poverty, and set off a prosperity revolution. Money 2.0 In Money 2.0, author David Conger clearly explains the problems our civilization faces as it teeters on the verge of economic, political, and environmental collapse. He shows how Big Business and Big Government have grown out of control, and have done so at the expense of all of all of us. This book shows of how we went from an economic democracy to an economic monopoly. It also demonstrates that political democracy cannot survive in an economic monopoly. Money 2.0 explains how the government was originally set up by the American Founders. It describes the genius of the American Experiment and explains the proper role of the government in the lives of the people and the economy. Next, Money 2.0 explains why the free market is the embodiment of freedom itself. It shows how the free market lifts nations from poverty, promotes equality, and walks hand-in-hand with Constitutional freedoms. The author also illustrates why Marxism, in all of its radical forms (Communism, Socialism, etc) can never work, and will only impoverish and oppress the masses. Money 2.0 then shows that applying free market principles to money itself solves many of the insurmountable problems we face today. It introduces the idea of a free market of competing currencies, as first proposed by Nobel Prize-winning economist F. A. von Hayek. Money 2.0 demonstrates how we can use blockchain technology to reinvent money itself. We can produce better, more stable, and more usable forms of money than the government. And we can do it without curtailing freedoms or a forced redistribution of wealth. Money 2.0 describes how smart contracts and side chains, two derivatives of the blockchain, can enable us to experiment and design special-purpose currencies that solve insurmountable social problems and streamline business like never before. The blockchain has the power to transform our civilization on a fundamental level and restore economic and political democracy. Money 2.0 shows us how. Publisher's Notes Money 2.0 is the first book to explain the true impact of the convergence of the blockchain, cryptocurrencies, digital cash, and the free market. We are on the verge of a new era of currencies that compete in the free market, combat poverty and income inequality, and reinvent entire industries. The blockchain heralds the advent of the economics of everyone, and Money 2.0 shows the way.

Cryptoasset Inheritance Planning PDF
By:Pamela Morgan
Published on 2018-04-15 by

|What happens to my bitcoin, ether, or other cryptoassets when I die?| Cryptoasset Inheritance Planning: A Simple Guide for Owners by Pamela Morgan, Esq. is a clear blueprint to inheritance planning for those holding cryptocurrency, tokens, crypto-collectibles, and other cryptoassets. Since 2015, Pamela has educated thousands of cryptocurrency owners around the world about why inheritance planning for cryptoassets matters and how to do it in a secure, usable, resilient, and efficient manner. In this book, Pamela walks you through her successful step-by-step inheritance planning processes. These processes are designed to help you build a customized crypotasset inheritance access plan - and you don't need to be a security expert or lawyer to do it. Inside you'll also find helpful tools like checklists, templates, and worksheets to make building your plan simple and easy. Topics include: * how to write a basic access plan in two to three hours * how to assess your risks and make your plan better * debunking common myths and misconceptions about cryptoasset inheritance planning * what laws you need to know about and why * how to interview, hire, and fire a lawyer and how to keep costs down * why smart contracts don't apply to inheritance today, but will someday * and so much more By the time you complete the book, your plans should: (1) allow your heirs to take possession of your cryptoassets when the time comes, but not before, (2) minimize the opportunity for others to steal cryptoassets from your loved ones, (3) provide an opportunity for your loved ones to hold the assets securely, instead of liquidating, (4) prevent fighting amongst your heirs and avoid legal problems whenever possible. Buy this book, follow the processes, and you'll be able to confidently answer the question, |What happens to my bitcoin, ether, or other cryptoassets when I die?| F.A.Q. Who is this book written for? If you own any cryptocurrency or cryptoasset tokens, this book is for you. If you use an exchange to buy and sell cryptoassets, this book is for you. If you've ever asked the question, |What will happen to my bitcoin, ether, or other cryptoassets when I die?| this book is for you. If you want someone, anyone, to inherit your cryptoassets when you die, this book is for you. Do I need to be an attorney or security expert to use this book? No. This book isn't written specifically for lawyers, security experts, or cryptographers, though they may benefit from the material. I don't live in the USA, is this book still relevant to my inheritance planning? The entire book, with the exception of the Making it Legal, is applicable to any cryptoasset owner in any jurisdiction. The Making it Legal section cites some USA law but the principles are broadly applicable around the world. Will this book teach me about specific cryptoasset laws in my jurisdiction? No. A book like that is called a legal treatise; they're heady and dense, even for lawyers. Instead, this book focuses on practical information you need know, like what happens to your assets if you don't have a will and why you shouldn't put your cryptographic keys in your will. You'll learn about high-level legal concepts that might affect your assets, how to find out more information about the laws in your jurisdiction, and how to keep legal costs down. The unique challenges with cryptoasset inheritance planning are not primarily legal - they're primarily technical. With this book, you'll learn how to create a cryptoasset access plan for your heirs. Your access plan aims to answer the question, |From a practical perspective, how will my loved ones access my cryptoassets when I'm not around to help them?|
